Q: Can I get a free estimate for fence installation?
A: Absolutely, we are happy to provide a free estimate for any new fence installation or fence repair. Insurance repair estimates require an estimate fee, which is applied to work performed if we are awarded the contract.

Q. Do you supply estimates and contracts in writing?
A. Yes, there's always a written record of our work, including estimates.

Q. Is Montco Fence properly licensed for fence work in Eastern Pennsylvania?
A. Montco Fence is fully licensed, bonded and insured per all applicable regulations. We are a registered local business with offices in Limerick and Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania.

Q. Do you pull the required permits for work?
A. No, it is the responsibility of the customer to pull any required permits. We are happy to guide you through this process.

Q. Do you contact utility companies to verify the location of buried lines?
A. Yes, we contact your utilities to locate potential water, power, sewer and gas lines.

Q. Do you hire any subcontractors?
A. No, our entire team works in-house for Montco Fence. We have assembled an experienced and skilled team able to handle any fencing project.

Q. Is having a fence installed good for my property value?
A. Yes, installing a fence can add value to your property by adding beauty, privacy and security. A fence also provides an attractive boundary that helps define your home and property.

Q. If I have a pool, is pool safety fencing required?
A. Yes, all local civic jurisdictions require residential swimming pools be enclosed by a pool safety fence that is at least 4' high and with no gaps or unsecured openings larger than 4”. Gates must include a self-latching or self-closing device on the top quarter.

Q: Is there such a thing as a "maintenance-free fence?"
A: Yes, most fences are maintenance-free or require very light, infrequent upkeep. Chain link fencing and aluminum fencing are completely maintenance free. Vinyl fencing may require periodic cleaning with a light bleach solution. Wood fencing requires periodic staining and sealing to reduce warping and maintain original color.

Q. How long does it take to install fencing?
A: Every job is different, however most of our fence installations are completed in less than a week. Most jobs require a day of preparation, to pour concrete and set posts. Once the posts are set, it's relatively quick work to complete the fencing.

Q. Can you install a fence gate or fence accessories to an existing fence?
A. If you have an existing fence and you want to add a gate, pet gate, decorative features, safety features or other fence accessories, we can help you. Contact us for a free estimate.

Q. How long do you wait before staining a new wood fence?
A. 6-8 weeks are required for moisture and oils to properly dry before staining. If your wooden fence is built in fall, it's typically best to wait until late spring to stain or seal your wood fence.

Q. What do I do if my fence requires service or repair under warranty?
A. Simply call us and let us know your name, address, date of installation and what needs fixing, and we will schedule a service visit to make any necessary fence repairs. We try to schedule all service/repair appointments with 5-10 days, if not sooner.

Q. When is payment due for a fence installation?
A: The balance is due the day your fence build is complete, unless prior payment arrangements have been approved by our office. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, personal check or cash payment.
